I thought it would be a good idea to have a topic where people could post a snapshot of their gps highest speed.
It could motivate me to invest in a new go pro with gps....

No recent picture.
A bunch of years ago in the MidWest Speed Quest, as I recall, my best average for 10 seconds on a Mistral Equipe XR was a small amount over 21 mph. But that might have been my top speed with a 10 second average of only a little over 19 mph. I don't remember. The place was Lake Okabena in Worthington MN on a windy Sept. day when fast guys on short boards were doing around or above 30 mph. Adding in my bit only because I like this idea.

7.5 sail on freaking Lake Andrea from all the places!
34 mph! Wow, that's huge. Way to go, Ady!
30 knots = 34.52 mph
Flashback: Pros with access to any spot with best wind and specialized equipment trying to break 30 knots.
1982 : Brest Speed Week; Out of 225 competitors, Philip Pudenze breaks the World record with a run of 26.5 knots. Most competitors now sailing on special speed boards, and the "25 knots club" got formed with only six members.
1982 : RYA Speed Week; Pascal Maka sets new Worldwindsurfingrecord at 27.8 knots on a Jimmy Lewis custom board.
1983 : Weymouth Speed Trials; Fred Heywood enters the scene with a new record of 30.82 knots aided by a massive back up team from Hawaii including Barry Spanier and Geoff Bourne, - and using a carbon wing instead of a mast.
1984 : Peter Bridgeman (UK) becomes the second man to break the 30 knots barrier.
1985 : Port St. Louis France; 50 knots wind speed and 8 sailors beat the World record. The fastest of them is Michael Pucher at 32. 35 knots.
Here’s my very best run to date:
Top speed 33.91mph
10 second top speed 31.85 mph
This was in Bonaire on a 115l Goya Bolt and a Simmer 2XC 7.1
I haven’t been able to get close to this result in the Midwest this season - the only time I might have, I wasn’t filming or wearing the watch
And finally, my experience comparing results from the Locosys watch and the GoPro is that my GoPro GPS seems is a bit funky and unreliable. (Max recorded speed with the GoPro was 30 or 31mph I think).

Not sure what the best graph to share is
I can do it by lake once we have more people involved (including me)
For now, I will share best time per people
