Other category ideas,,,,

Ady's efficiency idea. Wind speed to board speed ratio - base/gust .

Greg's sustained idea. Average speed over distance or duration. ( If it's over 4 hours call your doctor. )

I’m afraid we are going to end up with more categories then participants.
I have an idea! We can start our own fantasy windsurfing league. We’ll select the fastest windsurfers from the world speed ranking lists, making sure to include every single Dutch lady we can find, and we are going to complete them imaginary. Maybe this will get folks more excited, you don’t even need to get wet, just sit on your couch or desk or whatever and fantasise.

Sylvain, you are far from dead last compared with the list of "registered" names in post #64. In racing parlance you "started" and "finished" one race by having a recorded speed. So far you are ahead of each of us who are "registered" but do not have a recorded start & finish. And I believe that is how your position should be scored. A high point scoring system (the only fair way to compare performance at different events) includes in the count all who registered whether they raced or not. I'm one of those registered names without a recorded speed. You are definitely far ahead of me.
