I’m taking a page from Gregory’s book and starting a diary style tread for my sessions and the random thoughts that I bother you sometimes. It just seems a better fit for my posts .
And here comes the first entry for the year:
Looks like there is a good chance for early start of the new windsurfing season with both Monday and Tuesday presenting a lot of potential. I’m working Monday morning and I don’t know if I’ll be able to skip for the afternoon when the rain is supposed to subside but I’m definitely taking a day off on Tuesday if the forecast holds. Wolf or Clinton will probably work on both days and MC will definitely work on Tuesday, but I don’t like much the prospect of being washed out in a 36F water, Clinton’s beach sounds a lot more attractive. Anyway if somebody else is planning on sailing please let me know.

It’s 4.2 baby, no joke! Very gusty, but the weather is great and I’m crashing jibes left and right Whatever it’s awesome regardless! Having a break now. Cheers with my mint tea!

Love your "live feed"! Wish I could be there. Looks like tones of fun.
In the meantime, I'll break a small piece of news: I just signed yesterday for a foil to come my way! I will post more details once I get it! 2019 is going to be hot!

ABBA fan since childhood /born 1970/ . The 80s were my wild teen years, but I mostly dislike 80s music and fashion. I love the 70s and the 90s although they can’t be more different .

Ha, Greg is scratching his head about sails, I’m scratching mine about boards. I came to the conclusion that my jibing issues in the 4.2 range are rooted in too much bouncing off the heavy chop. The 94 is just too big for this wind range combined with my inexperience. I’m sure in 3.7 conditions it will be next to impossible to control it / not that I have a 3.7 btw/. The only remedy that I could think of is a smaller board, which I happen to have So, I’m pulling the 86 off the market /again/ and making it a 2019 resolution to try and sail it with the 4.2 whenever possible and see if it’ll be any better. From my experience so far if you give a board a chance long enough, even if you don’t like it at the moment, you can be pleasantly surprised one day when your skill catches up with that boards abilities.
I’m starting to believe that for my weight of 160-something lbs a 85 L board will be the optimal platform for the 3.7-4.2 range, 95 L board for the 4.7-5.2 and 105 for 5.7-6.2 in our neck of the woods. That’s for January of this year! Next year I may have a completely different opinion Im still work in progress by a long shot, like I said before.

I think you might be right with that one! That Starship I don't really like has actually help me progress some last year! I think I'll keep it for some more!
