TOPIC: Monday 4.22 - Stop in & shred.

Monday 4.22 - Stop in & shred. 5 years 3 weeks ago #1

Hey everyone, great to see so many sessions posted already. I plan on sailing and camping at Clinton Lake Monday night on my way to pick up my son in Durango. The Monday forecast calls for south wind. Where is the best launch for a south? Could you also remind me what lots put you on the water? It would be great to catch up with whoever might be able to join me. Campfire and beer on me. Thanks Wendell G.

Fun day at the Marina. Not the best day to show the Marina for guests. Wind was offshore wavering on either side of 180 degrees. Conditions for locals. We all made the best of it. My 108 FSW can schlog upwind with my 5.8, and did me justice. There was a zone about half way across. You could almost make to shore on the other side but not quite. Still a small shadow over there. The "zone" at one point made me think about the 4.7 and 95L. I helped Wendell set up camp and he cooked some brats. Great to see everybody.

Out on the road today
I saw a deadhead sticker on a cadillac
A little voice inside my head said
Don't look back, you can never look back

Rich was nice enough to let Wendell see what a Falcon was like with his 6.8. Me (5.8 sail, 108 FSW)

I've got my work cutout for me to catch the Falcon.

Wendell, Saturday(4/27) looks good if you wanted to hit Clinton again on your way back. We could all try the West Side launch. I'll post a Saturday Topic later if forecast holds.

Hey Reid and Rich, thanks for the hospitality and joining me last Monday. Your lake can be a handful, you guys make it work and look easy. Awesome to have pictures to remember the day, and opportunity to try Rich's formula board. That thing is a scary experience, zero to sixty in no time, i had talk myself into putting my foot into the rear foot strap. Once locked in a top end speed seemed limitless. Great day all around. Thanks guys!
