Went down to visit Wyatt and Tyson's place at Thanksgiving. Unfortunately I had a major flare up of my bad disc and didn't get to sail much - though it was windy every afternoon! I did get one good session on the foil setup with some longish rides "flying." Great place, highly recommended.

From Wikipedia:
“La Ventana Bay (Bahia de la Ventana) is well known for consistent north winds that blow from November to April, and is considered one of the world's top kiteboarding destinations.[3] It has been nicknamed 'Hood River South' by tourists who kiteboard in La Ventana in the winter and in Hood River, Oregon in the summer. As such, many if not most tourists in La Ventana come from the Pacific Northwest/Cascadia region.”

That seems pretty accurate, kites as far as the eye could see! Big gorge connection and met several Canadians as well. There also seem to be lots of people from the Bay area down there. Here's one more from a little adventure on one of the the 4-wheelers, in the a.m. before the wind picked up.

And this one will give you some idea of the conditions, this was Andre from Quebec's set up. I have never sailed a 76 liter board in my life, probably never will!!

Wow, that’s definitely a Gorge size board! I guess the guy is pretty lite as well, but regardless it shows confidence in the wind consistency. No wind holes=no shlogging.
