Anyone have any experience and/or knowledge of sailing there? Will be there in two weeks & would like to get some time on the water. Can find good amount online regarding Kite Boarding, not so much WS, other than resorts "have equipment".....

The resort equipment I found at Punta Cana was beginner boards with completely soft surface, and decade-old giant sails. The wind there was very marginal in (early September). On the contrary, Cabarete (north of the island) was epic as you would expect. That said, Punta Cana is the dream of a white sand beach vacation.

Thanks for the info, unfortunately as I suspected I may contact our resort directly & put someone on a search for decent/updated equipment.
