Carlyle, NOAA Friday: west wind ...increasing to 19 to 24 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 37 mph. Becoming mostly sunny. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Looking to hit the South Shore Ramp on Friday and Saturday. Might check out this cove east of the ramp on Friday for the WNW. Looks like it has new parking. Wind blockage. And swell might rap into the flat water cove. Hit a ramp on your way out. Maybe, we'll see.
Saturday will be W wind for the boat ramp launch. Anybody want to join? - hit reply.

Carlyle Update: NOAA upgrade. I could smell it. You get that way when you spent too many years with only a 73L in the car and nothing bigger than a 5.2.
Friday late afternoon - Yeah, put some of that dark orange on Carlyle.
Saturday upgrade - We'll take it! - Could be showing where the sun will be.

Had a great time, the launch site was great, the parking lot was huge perfect for skate board sailing, had mine but was focusing on windsurfing. Had a perfect grass spot out of the wind to rig. Sailed 5.8 on Friday and 5.2 on Sunday. The water was in the 70's, had partial sun on Friday and then rain squall moved through. Ed showed up and sailed but got there right before the rain. Saturday we had full on sun and good wind, one other person showed, forgot his name. Anyway perfect day. Thanks for calling it Reid.

The other guy was me, Hans. It was good to meet you out there Chris. I ended up sailing 6.2 for quite a while until it really faded out around 5 pm or so. If you are into skateboard sailing check this guy out:
Cool moves, never tried it with big wheels on sand. Sorry to have forgot your name. Liked the sail movies you were doing, going to try some of that next time out.

The scout plane is great at finding new sandbars and breaks but it can't land and drop you off at the launch. And not with any style. Which makes the new edition of Air-Cav, Air-Mobile so nice. So I said to the chopper pilot over the roar of the rotors and engine, do you think you can set us down right there? He said, "This is like Air-Cav, Air-Mobile. We can set you and your gear down like a baby right where you want it." I said, are you sure? This is kind of a motor-boat launch. "Motor-boaters don't windsurf!", he yelled over the headset.
Friday
We had sail sizes from 5.8 down to 4.2 on the water. Long sesh before the rain hit. When the rain hit it brought wind with it. Too much wind. I ran out to get a reading. It was a base of 35 mph with gusts that would rock your car. And we're behind trees. It lasted over an hour. The dark clouds looked like they could produce lightning. We got out again after the rain passed. I sail 5.8 with 95L
