Aeron Boom Loop 'n' Go: It takes a Dremel

The website says, "Loop-n-Go rear boom end". Not really. The outhaul line supplied or any standard outhaul/downhaul line can not be looped on. This will probably go for all the other brands made by Aeron with the same boom end. Straight from the factory it's more of a "Thread 'n' Go". But there is a way out. It takes a Dremel. Here's the How-To.

Line can not be hooked on. Will not drop in. Not enough space.

My Dremel with the sanding disk(not a cutting disk). You can probably make the same setup with a standard drill, watch your speed. Sand a little, try the line, sand and little, try the line... We're talking only millimeters.

A little bit of the bottom edge also needs to be knocked off.

Now the other side. Sand a little, try the line, sand and little, try the line.... We're talking only millimeters.

Boom! It drops in.

Now a guy can always leave the line cleated off. No more threading. Take the loop through the sail grommet, hook it on to boom end, pull outhaul and go!
