Hi
Do you have any shipping company that would you like to recommend to ship the windsurfing board?
And how much you paid for that kind of shipment for US? I know that every board is different with size and weight but just to have an idea.

Thanks

Hi Martin,

I have shipped Boards, Sails & Masts.

Sails & Masts:
Easy, just use, UPS or Fedex

Boards:
I have used www.freightquote.com
You get several quotes, When you are getting quotes you want to use "Freight Class" of "70", and for "How is it packed" choose "Bundles"
You get the best price when you drop the board off at the shipping location and the buyer picks it up at the shipping location nearest them.
UPS freight is usually one of the quotes you receive, they are not the cheapest, but they usually provide the best no hassle service. For example, when I was shipping a large board to the east coast, I got a great quote from a freight company in Elk Grove, when I went there, they would not accept the board because it was so large.....so I had to get another quote. I have not had that issue with UPS freight.
Typical quote for shipping a BIC Techno 293 to the east coast is about $180, so not cheap.
But for smaller boards, probably far cheaper.
For packing boards, I get two used bike boxes from the local bike shop and tape them together and use lots of bubble wrap.
Also cover everything in black plastic and cord to keep it all together, that may have been over kill, but my boards were very big so I wanted to make sure the packing stayed in place.
Also, when selling, I provide plenty of photos, a few in the ad, but if someone is serious about buying, I may send them a few more which show any damage (even small) in advance of purchase, just so there is absolutely no misunderstanding about the condition of the board, everyone has their understanding of what "Good Condition" is. I have been burned before by buying a board which turned out to be in poor condition, and had to return it.

Hope that helps,
Michael
