Not an upgrade, just an addition to my trusted 125! I got the 117 a year and a half ago at BogWinds on sale. Still not the same as the previous version (like my 125l). That 117 has more Vee at the front and will cut through the chop better but it demands more power to takeoff and doesn’t go through the lulls as nicely. Still a great board for fast freeriding.
Looks like NotthBeach windsurfing and BigWinds still have a 127 for less than $1300!
If you can fork the cash, you might want to check the 2024 version of the Starboard Futura 120l. I used it last July for 6 days in Bonaire and it is an amazingly fast machine!
