Looks like it’s the place to be. Forecast shows 20mph gusting 30mph. Should be good if lightning stays under control. If the forecasts holds, I think We might see Appleton, Green Bay, Milwaukee and Madison windsurfers showing up.
There will be at least the local kiters and I to enjoy the day for sure!
Looks fantastic! There may be leftovers for Sunday warriors even. One can hope! I don’t remember when was the last time I windsurfed Greenwood and I’m really hungry for some wave riding.
These are not from Greenwood, but you get the point
Awesome photos.
Saturday Sheboygan looks very stormy, at least the first half.
I might sit out Sheboygan this time :
winds 030 at 12 kts G 23+ kts I've already experienced.
but waves of 3 to 5 feet is beyond my level.
I’m considering Waukegan tomorrow. Greenwood might be straight onshore. The problem with Waukegan-very long walk over sand to the water, exhausting . Also I don’t like to be complete stranger. Should check both probably .
Greenwood looks like it will be acceptable but might be difficult. Just walk north to clear the breakwall. If Clark street (one beach north) is closed for swimmers, that launch works when the wind is more easterly, but parking is dicey (street parking) and the walk is longer. Alford Beach in Kenosha has short walk, right direction.
I did Waukegan yesterday. Winds were around 14kts with some gusts to 20.
My first time on fresh water and in Lake Michigan with the Gecko and the Nexus 5.9, went pretty well.
