September 27. NNE 17-22kn. Swell max around 7'
One of my favorite thing to do on Lake Michigan is getting through the mouth of the Sheboygan river into the harbor to rip as fast as I can on protected flat water. This only happens a few times a year when the wind is just right. Need to tack a bit upwind to reach the harbor from the beach launch though.
On that day, GG, one of the best local kiteboarder, and I went up and had fun chasing each other for a while inside the harbor. Check out some of the cool pictures with the lighthouse in the background. I didn't break any speed records but it was so much fun.
My GPS watch clocks 27 miles of sailing that day!
GG on the kite ripping hard
Speedrun along the jetty gives the near-30mph speedrun an extra dimension
Chasing GG down the river mouth
Butt-slap outside on the lake thanks to that steep piece of swell
The obligatory bunny hop for good measures
Not super fast but still...
