Looks like a good day for the Marina. SW wind in the 5.8 range. But don't leave your 6.9 and 4.7 at home. Who's going?

Since I couldn't make it out yesterday I'm interested to hear how it was, it was blowing pretty good here in Bloomington. It seemed even better than on Monday. Hope you guys got some good rides!

Indeed, Chris, it was a really nice day. I came back home late last night and didn’t have time to look for pictures or post anything, hence the slow response. I was the first one to arrive at Clinton around 11:30 and while I was rigging up the wind kept rising so by 12:00 it got a solid 20-30 mph, the direction shifted south becoming perfect for the Marina launch. As usual I wasn’t quite sure what sail size to use and you wasn’t there to advise me I went with the 5.7 Revo and the Atom. I did a few runs while still being the only one out there and I started to realise that my kit was fine for the area in front of the launch but up at the narrows the wind was stronger and I can use a smaller kit. Seeing Reid’s car pulling up gave me the final kick to come in and downsize. I switched to the 5.2 and the Kode while Reid rigged 5.8 for his 108. Sylvain showed up meanwhile and took out the 106 JP . I believe he had a good time finally and I saw him carving out a very decent jibe-well deserved reward for all the crap days he had this year. Another pal /whose name I already forgot/ and later Rich showed up as well. Rich rigged his 7.5 and alternated between the Volar and the Kona. He graciously let me try his kit after he was done and although I managed a few runs smoking a bewildered Reid in the process, the weight of all this real estate even in the slowly decreasing wind drained my already half empty battery. Most of the time I sailed up in the narrows along Reid and Rich with my 5.2/94 and only much later /after the Rich’s kit strength challenge/ I switched yet again to 6.5/110 for some hard slalom blasting along free styling Reid in front of the Marina. By the time we got to the Power Jibe it was 19:30 already! Looking at the depressing wind forecast I’m happy we had this nice day .

Glad to hear, too bad for me I couldn’t make it. Anything after June 15th and before Sept 15 is a bonus day. Let’s pray that lord Vayu gives us some more summer sailing days! ;)

It was really a beautiful day. Great temp and wind. Windsurfers ruled the day with Reid, Ady, Sylvain, John McKey and me. Only one kite out the whole day, what's up with that?

Not many pictures from me, I didn’t bother to replace the battery after it was done. Here some:

Kite/foil dude, who’s “nefarious” activity was so effortless that he looked like someone who will fall asleep any moment . Looking to escape the boredom and probably to show off his superiority over the huffing and puffing windsurfers he kept hovering around but in his defence he kept a safe distance. My personal advice to windsurfers tempted by foiling: guys keep windsurfing pure-like God and Jim Drake intended. If you want foils, wings etc. just come out of the closet and pick up kiting. There’s nothing to be ashamed of and you’ll save yourself tons of money, space, time and most importantly frustration.

I texted my wife: “heaven on earth at lake clinton”
I feel sore but very happy with the day.
Ady, I had the same comments on the foiled/kite surfer.

I will post some of my jibes attempts. My best jibe was heading to the marina, I had in mind to stop to adjust my harness line, jibe, expect to fall, but it went through.
Another time I was planning all the way, but as I flipped the sail, I was kind of surprised by how it felt and fell down...
