Peninsula could go epic!. ESE wind 4.7 to 4.2. Air temp will be colder than the water.. Bring your suit. Who's with me?
Rich, Reid and me are at the Peninsula day use and it’s 4.7 steady wind and nice ramps. I just have to admire them since my ankle isn’t ready for jumping. To whomever else is reading this it’s one of those day setup perfect for this spot, drop what you are doing and get out here is my advice!
Fun day at Peninsula with Chris and Rich. 4.7 with 95 L FSW worked great. I wouldn't call the day epic. We got a small taste. The wind direction was not quite right. It was a straight 90 degrees east. Which makes it side-on at the launch and slightly shadowed on the other side. And most importantly straight east brings the wind over shallower water before reaching us. So an epic ESE sesh 100 to 120 degrees is still waiting for us. I also think next time i'll make the extra walk down wind to Peninsula cove. It has a protected sand beach. And the wind has an exit from the high bluff off the little point. There's a nice little beach on the other side too. Wore my 3.2 suit. Falling in the water would warm you up. Got off the water around 6:00 pm. And we got the hell out of there before the storms hit. Thanks for taking some nice pics of me, Rich.
I had a lot of fun at the Peninsula launch. Was great to see Chris, taking it easy on the ankle, but you seem to be feeling better! Reid was getting some great rides and jumps and I had a lot more control over the Volar since moving to the one center back strap on high wind days. I think I'll switch back to the two straps, more outboard, only when I use my bigger fin.
