No I didn't sail it. The West Side would have been brutal. The cross-chop there is the most brutal on the lake when it's blowing that hard. Water temp 41 F. Swim Beach would have been the other option after the rain passed. The SSE wind would work better for the The Corner. It still would have been wicked. But water temp maybe around 51 F. Air temp was low/mid 40s with heavy cloud cover and rain. The high air temp wasn't hit until evening. This makes the 3rd day with gusts over 50 mph in 2018. Anyway here are the numbers.


Bloomington: peak sustained 36 mph, peak gust 55 mph

Champaign: peak sustained 44 mph, peak gust 62 mph

Decatur: peak sustained 30 mph, peak gust 46 mph
