NOAA: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 79. Northwest wind 11 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph.

Looks like a good day for The Road launch. Park just off the road on the south side of the road. Lots of grassy rigging. Wind NW in the 6.9 to 5.8 range. I plan to get there early.

What the parking and rigging looks like.

Update: Looks like enough WNW for Purgatory. Water will also be cooler there. I'm launching at Purgatory.

Walk your sail and board separately to the beach and click them together. Go slow and watch your shins wading through the water.

I am beat. But it was a pretty good day.
I think I completed my first jibe.... albeit a bit clunky, but I’ll take it
2 minutes later, Reid HAD TO duck jibe just in front of me

Very true. I think the hardest to do consistently is coming out planning off of a jibe. ...And this despite all the video telling you how to do it! Once you’ve done it once, don’t always expect to do it right! Very humbling.

Great day at Purgatory. I got on the water around 10:30 with 6.9 sail and 108 L FSW. Air was cool and water was tropical. Saw Sylvain rigging(6.8 sail) around 11:30. I forgot to put my sail bag in the back window so folks know what sail I'm on. Sylvain and I had the main pool to ourselves. The sail boats were having a race at The Narrows. Later they moved to the dam pool. Wind would wax and wane. Plenty of wind was coming out of the dam pool into the main pool. Rich came out later. Everybody was rippin' and having fun. We took a half hour break. It's nice to leave your gear in the water-grass so you don't have to bring it all the way back. We finally got off the water around 4:30. Great day. much needed. Around 5:00 the wind was no longer coming out of the dam pool at all. I drove past The Road on my way home and the direction looked good there at 5:00. Nobody was there.

Sylvain and I. You can stand up near shore and launch right in the wind zone.

I can't tell if it's Sylvain (6.8 sail) or Rich (7.0 sail)
