NOAA: Sunny, with a high near 79. Breezy, with a northwest wind 13 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.
Looks like a great day for Purgatory Cove and main pool mania. Wind in the 6.9 to 5.8 range. Wind starts NW. The best wind drops in WNW around 12:00 and all the way to 5:00. As the models indicate now. Hope we get a gang out there. Come on, people, get out there! Water temp 82 F.
Map of path if I'm on the water and can't guide ya. On small path through trees off parking lot walk your board and rig in two parts and click together on beach. Then walk slow with your gear floating behind you. See map.

Reid and Rich and I think Rick were on the water at 11 when I arrived. Rigged my 5.8, the wind was up and down, was good when the gust were there. Took break at 12:30, Reid called it, at around 1pm it started building, I took some power out of my 5.8 because I couldn't rig down, sailed until after 3pm getting blazing runs and a few fun jumps but was a little overpowered to make the most of it. Note to self, bring 4.7, 5.2 and 5.8 to Clinton because it just might exceed your expectations! I had a great time until I was spent and called it a day. Thanks Reid for talking me into leaving Shelbyville to sail Clinton today!

I got there early, a little bit before Rich. Rigged 5.8 with 108 L thinking the wind would build to it at some point out there. Caught a puff at the launch and hit the wind-line. Bam, the 5.8 was lit. I could reach almost to The Narrows, racing anything in my path along the way. The morning wind had a nice steadiness to it. That's the fastest I've gone on the 108 L with 5.8. Wind got a little patchy around 11:00. Then the wind stopped shifting and stayed WNW and started rippin'. Came in and rigged the 4.7 with 95L. Parked my other rig on the bank in the shade near the takeoff. Nice to have that much fetch and long reach. 4.7 was lit. Swell was fun. My new Lycra sun suit system worked like a charm. Water was warmer than the air. I got off the water around 4:00. Great day, glad to see everybody. We missed Ady, Staffan, Sepi, Glen and Rick out there. Next time.
