I’m playing with the idea of making a trip to Clinton tomorrow. It looks somewhat lightish, but better then what is supposed to be here. Will decide first thing in the morning.
Yeah I'm watching these days. Wednesday is looking a little light for me. Friday has straight south. Saturday is looking the best with SW. They keep taking the rain out which is good. Big warm up in air temps coming. I'll post a day I like the day before. Good luck tomorrow.
Can’t risk missing another good day. I missed a couple already and they have been so few and far in between this winter. And besides I have a magic fin now, no wind is too light for me
I sailed out around 12:15 and it was average for about an hour and then dropped so I sailed to the narrows in hopes for more wind. At 15:00 I came in for a break, to check the forecast and to make a decision. The couple of kiters present started packing, but I had a good feeling and while snacking on the observation bench I felt the wind staring to pick up again. By this time it has shifted S and down at the launch it was completely quiet. The hammer came down at about 15:30 and I had a nice , mostly powered up 2 hrs. Patience pays off
Awesome! We call that the 4:00 pm blow. We've seen that for years in the spring(when conditions are right). In the spring the cooler ground and water temps can make a buffer when the air temp gets too high. As the air temp in the late afternoon cools off the upper level winds have an easier time dropping to the ground. .
You can see Bloomington making a comeback around the same time you're talking about too. To show the wind is getting pulled through.
