NOAA: Mostly sunny, with a high near 78. Breezy, with a south southeast wind...increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 28 mph.
This needs to be watched. Might get a late afternoon sesh at the West Side. 5.8 wind. Zone is from 2:00pm to sunset.
Awesome day, Cool clouds formed over the lake as a steady wind lit up the West side access. Ady, not to get nostalgic but it was kind of like all the other good time we have had this year at Clinton.
If this dock is a rockin'.... Great day at the West Side. Not so good if you were launching or exiting a motorboat. Wind started to kick-in as I was rigging my 5.8 around 1:30. Pretty choppy by the launch and in the middle. Flat water could be found on either side of the long reaches. I went out for a second sesh around 5:00 - was way over powered. I could have easily sailed a 4.7 from 5:00 to sunset.
Welcome to the West Side. You have to unload and rig on the grass then park your car in the non trailer car lot.
Pretty cool sky. Go to link for more pics.
The Cliff. Chris's mast is 14'. The Cliff is around 20' and then the trees on top are around another 40'. The wind has no place to go but get squeezed around The Cliff.
You will be powered up/over powered with flat water near The Cliff.
Thanks again for the pics Reid! It was an awesome day. Where were you Ady, would have thought you would be coming down. I now remember why I parted with my 135 Fanatic Bee and 6.5 sail, you bounce around and can't hold onto it down here
Ha ha, they do bounce indeed those fat booties that's why I wouldn't pair a 130 L board with a 6.5 . At your 160 lbs though you can still plane in 10 to 20mph conditions I believe and then it is flat enough not to bounce too much. Like first session came on Clinton. Anyway there are sails bigger then 6.5 out there aswell
