Upgrade: Looking like a great day. 5.8 then to 4.7 is the afternoon - all the way to sunset. Have a 4.2 in the car for the 4:00pm blow. Starts S and rolls to S-SSW.. I think the Marina is the spot. I'm gonna try to get there early and make a full day of it. Hope I can wear my 3.2 suit.
Got out there a little after 10:30. I rigged 4.7 because that's where my boom and harness lines were last time out. Keep it simple. Wind started to kick-in just as a got my 3.2 suit on. Water temp at the Marina is 60 degrees. Getting to the wind line was not easy in the S wind. We never got the S-SSW. I think the overall wind was gusty and the S wind coming off the trees was not helping. I headed up to the Narrows and it was a hot mess up there. Raging shifting gusts, high water bouncing off the banks and motorboat chop. I sailed up wind of that to get longer reaches. Had a long sesh up there. Came in for a break and Glen showed up. He sailed his 5.3. Glen and I head up to the Narrows again. Around 4:30 the gusts started to hammer and we worked our way back. Long day. Air temp hit 77 degrees. I think I could of sailed my 4.2 in the late afternoon if the wind was SSW. Chris, you never came back from your lunch break. Left us hanging.
