TOPIC: Helene hits Purgatory Cove, 4.0 N-NNE, 9/27/24

Helene hits Purgatory Cove, 4.0 N-NNE, 9/27/24 2 weeks 1 day ago #1

The lake was right on the edge of no rain with increasing wind. It stayed dry. I thought it would be a lot more epic but it was pretty gusty. The straight North at times was not helping the setup. . NE or NNE would have been better. Got on the water a little after 2:00 and left the water around 5:30 when Helene started to mean business. Champaign had a gust to to almost 60 mph. Mattoon being closer to the low hit over 60 mph 3 times.

Wasn't steady enough to really grab the water but still tried to swell.
