At one point hammered on the 4.8. Got to the lake around 8:30am. Sailed a little bit. Water was warmer than the air. Then rain grazed the north end of the lake. The first dip in the graphs. The wind came back just ahead of a new line of storms to the south of the lake. The wind was perfect SSW steady. The dark cloud cover blocked the sun and kept things cooler. Then the storm grazed the south end the the lake. See second dip on graphs. The wind worked its way back and sun popped out. SW wind. I worked my way up to The Narrows and sometimes a little beyond only to have the wind really kick in and hammer my 4.8. If I had my 4.0 on it would have been perfect. I survived my way back and thought I would record some GPS speed runs from the helmet. Got back out for a few runs and the wind dropped - now WSW. Got off the water around 5:30pm. Lycra kept me cool even at peak air temp of 92 F.
