TOPIC: Thursday 10/22/20

Thursday 10/22/20 4 years 1 month ago #1

The pelicans have spoken. Thursday looks like the last chance to sail with an air temp near 80 F. Wind S 190 to 180 degrees in the 5.8 range. I was kind of digging the longer reach at West Side. All in favor of West Side say "I". Snow in the forecast for Tuesday morning of next week. :(

I am in. Don’t care where.
Planning on ~1 pm arrival time

This is so tempting. But it’s almost 5 hours away for me! Should I?

I could make it at ~1pm. Where is the launch you are talking about?

Greg,
That would be nice to have another Frenchman on the lake
Never launched from West side but if you go to the Launch tab and zoom in on Clinton Lake, it seems to be the most western spot

Sounds great! I’ll leave by 7 and should be around by 1. I’ll drop a private message with my phone number

That’s a boat ramp. Should be easy for a launch, and nice grassy area behind for rigging! J’arrive!

You drive down and unload your gear. Then park in the non trailer parking.

Pictures of what it looks like and a post above with a map where you can set a speed record from Saturday's 10/17/20 sesh.

The ramp area is for loading and unloading only.

Perfect. You got me all confused with the zones. see you there in a bit.

This was a great “summer” day (~78 degrees!). Amazing! Wind was really on and off but I had a few good runs. If this has to be my last day of the season this year, I’ll take it. Great windsurfing crew at Clinton Lake. Was very nice seeing new faces and some I hadn’t seen for 2 years. A few pics below. I’ll post more pictures as an album by end of day.

I hope the wind picked up and filled in after I left. Before I left i had a few minutes to watch, got to say Greg is fast, his board kept a low profile on the water, flat and fast with his sail raked back just above the deck giving lift so only the back most portion of the board was making contact with the water. Here are some pictures of him smoking Rich, sorry Rich!

Thanks for the pictures Chris.
There are more pictures in the Photo section with Reid, Rich and Sylvain in the frame as well.

The wind didn't pick-up a lot more later in the day but there was a few powered gusts. There was a moment where it filled for one run when Rich, Reid and I were next to each other planning. It's pretty cool to watch the short video segment. There a few pictures of that as well. I'll try to put that segment it in a video sometime.
