TOPIC: Saturday 10/17/20

Saturday 10/17/20 4 years 2 months ago #1

This looks like a repeat of Wednesday (S 190 degrees). A touch stronger. Hopefully more solid. S wind in the 4.7 to 3.7 range. Air temp cooler.

If you liked Wednesday we can do that again at the Marina. If the forecast holds at 190 degrees.

Or we can try the dam pool. Water temp at the dam pool is 64 F.

What do you boys want to do?

I say, I’m checking out the West side and then the Marina if WS doesn’t look good.

I agree. I'll swing by west side first. If no good, marina is fine with me.

Partly sunny, with a high near 70. Windy, with a south wind 17 to 22 mph increasing to 26 to 31 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 49 mph.

Have a good day! Looks windy all around :-)

Hey Rich - are we missing Lac Bay yet...? Go fast!

From Lac Bay to Pelican Speed Cove. Rich will be slightly younger than us after today. This is where I hit 34 mph last year - but I wasn't lit. I hope to break that today.

I can't imagine Lac Bay blowing 30-50! If you wiped out, you'd skip all the way to the deep end!

Just came from West side, no one there. It is too user unfriendly for me. Going to the marina launch.

Great time, rigged 4.2, sailed across the area in front of the boat ramp, so many nice pieces to hit, Reid and Rich worked their way up to the south shore and were speed Sailing for sure. I bet Reid broke his record. The water was warm to me at the ramp area but Rich said the south side was even warmer. You can’t beat that spot on a southerly at Clinton. Nice place to rig, walk right down the ramp and your in the wind the hull time, step on and take off!

Oh, I recorded my speed the second half of my session and my top speed was only 28mph but I was in the chop with lots of ramps to navigate. Was fast enough for me, great time.
