My daughter might want to come home this weekend from UIUC, so I have to go get her, might as well sail before taking her home. Given the pending somewhat hopeful forecast, what are the good launches for the predicted SW winds? Been there once for unsuccessful high wind experience, at Marina and a camp site.

Come on down! As of right now with S to SSW it looks like the marina. Wind looks 7.0 + as of right now. Euro model has gusts to 24 mph. You need a 3.2 suit. Get that Severne Fox 120 freshly waxed so I can take its doors off. We can race to the dam pool and back. I'll give more updates as we get closer to race day.

Won't be able to sail that day unfortunately, have to head back to Chicago early, will hopefully sail when I get back, wind supposed to come up mid afternoon in Chicago. Maybe later this fall.

Fun day at the Marina. Chris and I got on the water around 1:00 pm with 5.8s. Turned out to be the peak wind of the day. Had to chase gusts after that. Chris headed in. Rich was down wind with 7.5. then switched to 8.5 and stayed down wind. Wind was shifting from 190 to 220 degrees. Wind was rippin' as it was being released off the west side narrow. Setting me up for down wind 360s. I was able to make some. Ran out of battery for my best one. Also tried up wind 360s (non-planing). Lots of stuff to try when schlogging. Water temp was cooler in the main pool - felt 65+ F. Air temp hit 85 F. We missed you, David. Would have been a good day for your Severne Fox. Especially straight out at the launch. I got off the water around 4:45 in the pm.
