Looks like a good day for Purgatory Cove. Wind WNW in the 5.8 to 4.7 range. Air temp will require us to breakout the 3.2 suits. You see that wind spot in Iowa. That should drop into central Illinois in the afternoon . The Galesburg meter goes off, then Peoria, then Bloomington.
I was rigging when Reid was posting about rigging down, I sailed solid 4.7 wind with lots of nice ramps for an hour, then at like 3:30 it started to wax and wane from like 5.8 so too 4.7, as it shifted and made it harder to find good chop but when it was blowing it was still solid.. I stopped sailing just before 4pm, had enough and didn't feel like rigging up. Windsurfed KS + MI + IL in less than two weeks, this is about the best as it gets for me. Going to try to keep it going, maybe 5.8 tomorrow, water is warm!
I got down there late,4:30ish, and the Road was whitecapping so i dropped in there for a quick hour. Some good runs with the 6.0. Water is nice and warm over there.
When we were packing it in at the same time you were launching at the road, Reid says to me, “the wind shifted, we could probably go to the road and get some good rides” something to that effect anyway, glad you had it covered!
Way under forecast. We had gusts near 40 mph. I went back out on 4.7. Chris rigged the same. We had fun out there even with the 15 to 40 wind. After 4:00 it started to back off and shift to NW. The main pool loses its dynamics when the wind doesn't come out of the dam pool WNW. You get a cross chop and not swell. It gave a good setup for Rich after 4:00 at The Road.
