Great day, Reid took lead and Sylvain followed, getting out there early, good wind Gage if you will. Glen, Rich, Mike, Perry and I patiently waited until like 3:30pm to get out there. Was powered up on my 5.2 the whole time. Got about two hours before calling it quits, Reid was still out there with Glen when I took off. My Friend had dinner going when I got to town, perfect day!

I got on the water around 1:30. It looked grim for a 4.7 on 95 L. The wind was offshore and looked like you could get stuck out there with a long swim back.. Somehow I got a water-start at the top of the beginner cove. As I schlogged out I could see there was just enough wind out there to limp back on so I kept going. Got up to the narrows with Sylvain (5.3, 106 L). Catching gust sets like waves to get rides. Never had to uphaul. Then the wind shifted to SSE and locked folks out at the marina. Reaches above The Narrows wanted to take me straight up to the dam. I went way up the lake on port tack. We hung out on the west side Narrow where you can stand up and wait for a set of gusts. The turkey vultures were soaring on the updraft at the treeline there. Telling us we were at the right spot. Or maybe they were thinking we weren't going to make it. A turtle swam past me a little up wind. He came up for air. The rain had passed around noon but there was a heavy cloud just north of the lake blocking the ground from sunlight. Sure enough around 2:30 when it cleared the wind started to kick in. Around 3:30 the wind shifted SSW and unlocked the marina. And we started to see some familiar sails heading up to The Narrows. And we saw Perry Biddle windsurfing after a 9 year hiatus! Not steadiest wind out there. Streaky. Everybody cashed in their chips early leaving Glen and I the lake all to ourselves. Fun day. I got off the water around 6:00.
(4.7, 95 L) Above the Narrows. Nice view looking down the lake.
(4.7, 95 L) Jump.

Me (4.7, 95 L). Glen (5.3, 95 L)
Glen (5.3, 95 L) Glen has one of the best Step Jibes you'll ever see. Even in the gnarliest of conditions.
Me (4.7, 95 L). Glen (5.3, 95 L)
(4.7, 95 L). Going for a Vulcan. Should be bringing my hand across my body and grabbing other side of the boom here. Have to start it right on take off. This is where GoPro review comes in handy. Would have been a nice one.
Me (4.7, 95 L). Glen (5.3, 95 L) Heading back to the marina launch.
(4.7, 95 L). Folks squint when you say windsurfing to them. They're trying to picture what it is. But before you even cross that hurtle you have to explain that there's a lake 30 min from their house. And they squint trying to picture what that must look like. We'll just keep it all to ourselves.
