Looks like a good freeride day for Marina. Chase puffs in the Marina pool and in the Main pool. NW 6.9 wind. Long reaches. Might get wake rides. Water temp at the coldest spot now up to 72 F.. Time to breakout the Lycra. Who's with me?
I could be talked into The Road. Euro model thinks it might gust in the mid to upper 20s mph in the afternoon. And right down the pipe for The Road. Be fun to try some freestyle.
Sailed my long board 135 and 6.5 sail. Had some fun rides at the road. Then batten broke and made sail shape wonky so I packed it in. Reid was sailing and getting some good rides. I then went to Evergreen lake and kayaked with my GF and her daughter, beautiful day, Oh, the Power House Pub is open in DeWitt, you can order at the drive up window, park in their lot. Sure they need business so if you sail Clinton give them some business, thanks! Good people!
Got to The Road around 11:45 am. Didn't look like much.. Had WNW in it still - side-off. I counted on everything happening and rigged a 5.8. Min downhaul and outhaul settings. With 108 FSW. Schlogged out. Wind got better and better, shifted between WNW and NW. At one point I saw Chris way down wind in the water. I did a down-winder to check on our boy. Right as I got down there he water-started and took off and then went in. I wore my Lycra sun suit. A couple of places in the water I fell in felt warmer than the air temp. Putting the water temp up near 80 F. I got hit by a "dust devil" thermal. They look like a gust on the water but you can see rotation in the pattern on the water . It back-winded me and threw me in the water. Fun day, felt like a water park. Wind started to come out of the NNW and this corridor of the lake starts to lose its dynamics with that direction. I got off the water around 5:30 pm.
