One day stolen from the icy grip of winter. I was waiting for these conditions for a while hoping to be able to increase a bit my speed ranking but it turned out to be a disappointment. Maybe I started too early being the first on the water/besides a kiter/ at 11:30 and by the time the wind reached its peak around 14:00 I was way too tired, but the best I could squeeze out is another 35 mph speed . The picture got lost somehow during the transfer so I’ll post it later.

I feel like I’ve reached the limit of this kit and my abilities to hold it down, because I sailed at the edge more or less. There has been just too much tail walking regardless of all the tweaking and the only option left the way I see it is a smaller fin , which I should have anyway for the 6.5. I hesitated so far to buy one because the board is not worth it, but unless I find a much flatter spot or gain another 30 lbs of weight a smaller fin is the more realistic option.

Greg came down and got in the water at the same time as another 3 of the Wolf regulars. At one point a gust pried away the rig from my cold tired fingers while water starting and I couldn’t even swim fast enough to catch up to the kit so I had to walk around on the shore and reach it just seconds before it would have been tossed on the rocks. Got back to the launching spot partly sailing, partly walking, but mostly just sitting and drifting. Greg was in already and soon the rest of the guys. A beer and a sandwich at the Bulldog replenished some of the lost energy before the road home.

Way to go! I get cold just looking at it. What size fin were you thinking?

My current one is 42 cm which is perfect for the 7.5, a 38 should be fine for the 6.5. Nothing overly fancy for this board-another MFC H1 or similar.
This and a backpack filled with rocks to keep the board down. Can you imagine a high speed crash with 30 lbs of rocks on my back? It will be something reminiscent of a murder-suicide scene

I forgot to mention, nice pics! I believe this is the first time we're seeing Ady Cam!

I have a MFC k‑one freeride 38 and 34 out of my own personal stash that you can try before you buy.

Thanks for posting the pics Ady. They are great. That was fun to drag-race with you. We need to do this again. ;)

Absolutely, the more the better! Next year we’ll start going to Lake Geneva when the conditions are right.
