MONTROSE BEACH : THURSDAY March 17. West wind 25 gusting to 30. Not many sailors know this secret, west wind is side shore / slightly side off at montrose beach, lake michigan. Today the air was 65 degrees, water about 44. I wore a 4.5/3.5 o'niel technobutter suit, 3mm boots, 1.5 mm gloves and a hood.

Montrose Beach is good side shore , flat water sailing . Give it a try !

Thanks for the report, Greg. As you know, West winds usually mean very gusty sailing up in Evanston. Is W any better/steadier at Montrose, or are they about the same?

Montrose west wind is steadier than evanston. Flat water rippin side shore! Lock your car doors and don't leave equipment unattended.
