TOPIC: 6/4/23 Sheb - I found "some" wind!

6/4/23 Sheb - I found "some" wind! 10 months 3 weeks ago #1

I managed to steal a twilight session yesterday between 6 and 8 pm in warm weather/water. Such a great vibe to sail during sunset.
Foiling to start with and then fin to finish the session as the wind picked up some.
The almost "do-it-all" 159 Falcon Lightwind got out of storage and saved the day! One board, one sail (8.5 cam sail). Perfect setup for the conditions: remove 2 screws and switch from foil to fin and vice versa in just a few minutes!
I got my windsurfing fix. Can peacefully wait till Tuesday for the next opportunity (Possibly moderate NE).

Been windy here in Green Bay all day. Spent the day foiling on a 5.0, practicing my horrible freestyle skills on a 6.3/100 liter freestyle board and finally tearing around on my race gear. Literally too tired to sail anymore. Beautiful day!

Those sunset shots are really great, and glad you got out!

I've been really really eager to sail, but the last month has been either terrible wind, or if it's actually windy it's bad for me as I'm stuck working aloft where wind makes things difficult!

I picked up a use Kona One and am thinking about chucking it in Lake Michigan this week to try it out. Tried a friends old Tiga longboard and thought it was really cool in light air last year, so hoping the Kona does the same kind of angles and feel.

Hey David, on a day like that, what beach/launch area do you go to around Green Bay?

Funny that 10 miles north of Green Bay we get excellent waves/periods that can rival the lake proper and almost nobody knows about it. From beautiful longboard sessions to flat water speed sailing, bump and jump, and great wavesailing days, the Bay offers a lot for windsurfing in a place you'd least expect. Here are some misc. shots from over the years.
