TOPIC: 4 days in a row!

4 days in a row! 2 years 10 months ago #1

A bit more than a week ago I had 4 days in a row of sailing! That never happened to me since I sail in the midwest (5th season now). This spring has been low on great days but this time I got served!

  • June 3: Sheboygan, SE 15-25kn, 125 Bolt / 7.0
  • June 4: Winnebago (Deadwood), SW 17-27kn, 125 Bolt / 7.0 6.0
  • June 5: Sheboygan, SE 20-25kn, 125 Bolt / 7.0
  • June 6: Sheboygan, SE 22-30kn, 125 Bolt / 7.0

Fun times!

Nice.....

by the way, what can you say about reliable wind prediction in Madison (not quite your neighborhood, but you might know). This Sunday shlepping my D back to UW, windfinder says 17-23 on Monday afternoon. What's the probability of sailable wind. If not that great, I'll take the hybrid and save gas.

Thanks, David.
The forecast seems a bit all over the map for Madison on Monday: Windfinder shows great WNW conditions mid-afternoon while every other app/site seems fairly undecisive with predictions from 11 to 17kn. This is still 4 days away, so I would think the forecast might get a bit more precise over the weekend.
I plan on going somewhere as well on Monday but I don't know where yet. I never tried Lake Geneva and I heard it's pretty good on west wind days...
I'll PM my contact info to you; maybe if the conditions are right I might join you in Madison!
Cheers.

Greg,

Contact Andy at Chinook. I'm sure he'll warranty that boom. He might still be in Bonaire though.

Thanks, Chris. Yes, I think he is still out there; my email returned an OOO message until today!
I'm hoping he will be able to do something.

If I break an other boom within a year, I'll be ok to be known as the boom-slayer
