...continues from above.
Wind picks up, chop gets rough, I start to hit speeds above 30 mph and freak out

Making the mistake of downsizing to Revo 5.7 instead of trimming down the Retro. But first a selfie with my usual bitch-faced look :angry:

But mostly ducking. No slaps in the face with the high cut sail foot. This babe is made for that.

Yesterday 09.03 session was a last minute decision, because I had to work which meant waking up at 2:30 am and feeling like sick for the rest of the day. Since it’s still a holiday week, business is slow and I didn’t have to start this early the previous days, I felt good enough after the morning trips. The choice between waiting for hours in the airport parking lot or going windsurfing was easy one then. Off to Wolf and I got there around 12:30 to next to nothing wind. Roman pulled in at the same time and we had some chat discussing the prospects while my friend Ivo reported a super strong wind at Silver Lake, WI. I started to rig the 7.5, the Wolf parking lot started to fill up with windsurfers and kiters vehicles alike. By the time I was done rigging and changing in my too-warm-for-the-weather wetsuit the wind has picked up and started to look like 5.7. Back to rigging-this time 5.7 Revo and 94 Kode.
Did a few runs with the small kit but it proved to be too much work. In general the wind at Wolf is too patchy for boards smaller then 100 L even for lighter riders. No exception this time and I’m back to rigging.
When loading my car back home I had the fleeting idea of taking only my small gear and fortunately unlike the last time I didn’t fall for the same mistake and loaded everything.
The 3rd rigging must have been the charm and the 6.5 Retro and 110 Atom combo stuck for the rest of the session. A bit overpowered at times but overall very satisfied with my kit I embarked on a blasting bonanza until after 3 pm when a little bit of rain suppressed the wind for close to an hour. It came back later but and I sailed for another hour or so . The Lansing graph is probably slightly lighter then the Wolf conditions.

When it’s not enough for windsurfing, it might be just right for boat sailing-like yesterday B) Less confused and more useful myself having a great time, fun racing in Albert’s boat again .

This crew’s after session routine needs improvement IMO. Having beer and food by myself is not the way I like it:

Also last week we went to lake Shabbona with my wife for the first time where we rented and drove a pontoon boat/another first/ and observed a very calm bald eagle /also a first/ . The lake is not very big and half of it is full with weeds and the other half with tree stumps-not great for windsurfing. Must be awesome for fishing on the other hand because inside of the shopping/renting/dining building there are many pictures of dudes holding giant muskies and other fat fish species.

Shit, I accidentally deleted my own post for the 2nd time already so I’ll just post some pictures and be done with it :angry:
Lake Geneva 09.13

{Admin restored post here}

Hopefully the third time will be the charm. Trying to post while busy working is not an easy task /for me-terrible at multitasking/.
Anyway this post is about my 09.13 session at posh Lake Geneva, WI. This is another first for me, never been here at I sorely regret it because the place is magnificent. The windsurfing is great on most westerly directions and the narrows where the launch is situated amplify wind and swell creating an awesome bump and jump playground. Judging by the number of boats docked everywhere it may get very overcrowded on weekends during the peak of summer, but on Friday with the rough conditions and pretty much past the season there was very little traffic and best of all no pesky kiters. There is not much of the scenery in the pictures, but believe me the lake is lined up with incredible properties and unbelievable number of private docks where I just glimpsed some very cool boats-sail and motor.

The water level was high after the rain storm the night before and the waves started disassembling the pier. I saw 3 of the board panels float away.

The rest of the pictures are mostly of my swell riding which was the highlight of the day for me. A lot of fun but exhausting as well.

The tri fin setup is useful there, I should have changed to small center fin after downsizing from the 5.7 to 5.2 and finally to 4.7
