TOPIC: Fun offshore SW from Greenwood 8/11/21

Fun offshore SW from Greenwood 8/11/21 2 years 8 months ago #1

We had a fun but dicey SW from Greenwood yesterday. There is basically no wind at the launch, and yesterday beyond the break wall at least another quarter mile before the wind hit, and then it hit really hard, 5.5-6.0 gusts to 35 at Crib (75 feet up though). In the pic you can see 2 of us crawling back to Greenwood, at this point just plowing back, takes 20 minutes to get back to the break wall. Once inside the break wall, you will either get lucky with a S breeze that carries you in or unlucky with a NW gust that takes you down. You need to have a floaty uphaulable board that handles chop well, Severne Fox 120 might be the ideal board. In a month we will use Lee St which is one beach south, wind is much better close to shore.

That sounds like an adventure, and a lot of fun. Your Fox has some nice V up front once you hit the wind-line. That NW cam is awesome.
