Does anyone have any info about bangs lake in Wauconda? I’ve been cruising the internet looking to see if it’s a viable launch site and it seems like no body talks about it. Am I missing something?

I live near Bangs Lake...you could probably launch from the Park District parking lot for free

As Kathleen said the Wauconda Park District looks like the spot. Looks pretty cool. Over a half mile reach. Lots of wind directions, SW all the way around (counterclockwise) to NE. Watch for ski-boats. Be a pioneer and put Bangs on the windsurfing map.. Mind your distance. Be careful.

Thanks! I give it a go. Any ideas about rules and regs for the lake? Only thing I could find is an article from ‘96 about someone getting pinched for not wearing a pfd. And the park district is not answering the phone right now. I’m assuming because of closures and such.

They have flood rules. It opened on June 3.
