Yep, exactly. Mine is an O'Neill that is better suited to surfing than windsurfing and it doesn't have any straps to cinch at the ankles.

When you guys put your boots on cowboy style, do you also wear cowboy hats and Colt revolves?

We should have a goofy look competition btw. I’m convinced that I’ll get the top spot. Try and beat the windsurfing turtle , wearing a hood from Hyperflex-the worst ever-and the XT bucket harness.

My buddy Brian will be close second.

Maybe an idea for your contest Ady: Board short over wetsuit. Mmm, lovely. I've seen a few kiteboarders doing this over the summer. Wetsuits are not the most glamorous outfit for a guy (especially in its 50s with 10lb too many), but why the board short over? I need an explanation

Ha, ha it’s hard to beat the windsurfing turtle, isn’t it? Or young Sean Connery in his crazy scy fy...something costume. If you add his voice to the visual it becomes even funnier:

Regarding the shorts over wetsuit trend, you shouldn’t look far-I’m right here baby all stocked up:

My board shorts are stretchy O’neill, black with just a silver stripe here and there matching my wetsuit. Papi rides in style B)
The practical purposes are little, but mine are: 1. The pocket where I keep a small rigging cleat and a “sinus saver” nose plugs and 2. To protect my easily damaged “skin “ type wetsuit when I sit on rough surfaces like my boards deck. Besides I think it looks cool if you do it tastefully.

Back to topic, the o'neil 3mm heat sizing was too small, so I had to return them too. They looked pretty decent though, if the price was right I probably would have just sized up but the next size up was $20 more expensive so I had to look elsewhere.

I just received the XCEL Drylock Split toe 5mm. I put them on and they fit pretty snug and feel good. I think I have a keeper (finally)

I hope we have a warm day so i can test them in water.
