It was one of the biggest days at The Road in some time. Ady and Chris were rigging 4.7s when I got there. I rigged a 4.2 like a local. . And clicked that onto the RRD FSW 95L with my smallest fin a 27 cm. It was rippin' out there. You could get lots of angle on the steep ramps. It was like a little water-park. I saw the crash Chris was talking about. I was heading toward him and thinking give him room in case he has to bail and sends gear flying. Sure enough, he's 10 feet up with no gear doing a superman. He belly-flops face first. I sailed up to his gear as he's swimming for it. He was able to grab it. Took a photo and coffee break. Went for another sesh. I got off the water just before 4:00. Weird to quit sailing around peak wind. It was raging. I had my fill and quit while I was ahead and not hurt. Great to see everybody. Sorry I didn't get pics of everyone. The timing of breaks.
Ady (4.2 sail). Down wind of Ady the launch had a shorebreak. I see smoke on a couple of the pieces out there.
Ady (4.2 sail). Foiling!
Ady (4.2 sail). If you have too much power just bleed it off.
Ady (4.2 sail). Fast-tacking in 50 in the middle of the lake. See link for full sequence

Speaking of 4.2s and 86Ls....here you go, Ady.
Nice part about The Road launch is despite all that wind, almost no wind where you rig.
Some Big Lake surfer came down from Woodridge and was smacking the lip at the secret sandbar.
Me (4.2 sail). Whaaaat....it's just a little liquid smoke out here. (Photo by Chris)

Me (4.2 sail). Ady (4.2 sail) up ahead. I'm still hooked in...
Me (4.2 sail). ...and landed hooked in. Don't try this at home, kids.
Me (4.2 sail). Rich (5.0 sail) up ahead. His Volar was rippin' and hanging in there. And he got a chance to try the smaller free Starboard. If Rich is on a 5.0 you really should be on something that starts with a 3.
Me (4.2 sail). Involuntary Table-top. Look at how mean that water looks.
Me (4.2 sail). Using the boat ramp cove to Wuss-jibe. Every time I went by I thought, I wonder if the Boondocks restaurant is open (red roof in the background)
Me (4.2 sail). Boom!
Check out my artsy pics of the hot tub in the link. 'till next time.
It looked 4.7 manageable but once you got out in it on the far side the wind was much stronger. It was a little offshore at the road but was releasing off of the shoreline on the other side. I am thinking launching from the beach would have been better because you would be stepping right out in the wind line. Anyway, wish your GOPRO would have caught my flight! That gust kicked my butt, caught me off guard.
Thank you Reid! I wish we have a lot more days like this, I need practice . My “ones every year” 4.2 Revo is a 2012 model and it still looks like new. Same thing with the 86 Kode, it rides smoother and is turnier then the 94 , but the lack of practice makes me blow most of the jibes and every single one of the tacks. The fear also prevents me doing any decent jumps, something this board is supposed to be good at ...I’ve read. Anyway if I hadn’t start coming to Clinton, I wouldn’t be even close to where I am now. For comparison the only time last year that I’ve used this same 4.2/86 setup it was on Wolf, early spring in similar conditions /gusting over 50/ ir was horrible and I cracked a rib or two. I had to sail in my seat harness for a while after that. This time I didn’t break anything or injured myself and I didn’t even have an impact vest on!
It was great to sail with you guys and I love the traditional after-session pit stop at yhe “Power jibe” . For some reason the beer and the pork chop sandwich with fries are the exceptional there
Thanks, Ady! Yep, we will get some warm SW days before we're done.
Thanks, for taking some pics, Chris. I didn't have my GoPro attached during your "superman" when I first went out. We need to get your GoPro fire'd up. See what the lake looks like from Chris Airlines.
Sylvain, fire up one of your GoPro pics in this thread. I can't believe you went out in that with that much sail and board. Way to go!
Ha, thanks for reminding me. I actually did it again when we sailed with Gregory. It looks like that this will be my Clinton legacy move, the one I will be remembered for. I am going to call it the Adelini Ride. You know like the move that Kelly Slater did recently-the Houdini Ride twitter.com/wsl/status/1074489896532828160www.google.com/search?q=kelly+slater+hou...ceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
The association with Houdini is obvious because my move involves magic too. I don't want to give away the secret but the move basically consist of riding a windsurfing kit until you find a nice breaking wave and get on top of it. At this point I make the rig disappear magically and proceed surfing the wave with only a board. There you go-the Adelini Ride
