Cold!. We stopped at The Bridge launch. It was still a little offshore. Not being able to zip back into shore right away from the cold air didn't make it look appealing. So we launched out of F13. It uses the same beach as F11. The path to the beach isn't as wide but the walk is shorter. Chris started on a 5.2 until he blew up his boom from loop attempts. Then he sailed his 4.7 with his smaller boom. I sailed my 4.7 with the 108. I was lit on the 4.7. I wore a Lycra shirt under my 5.4 suit for the first time. Kind of tight on my forearms. And it's be years since I wore mittens. My forearms didn't like those either. Had a sesh with my gloves until I couldn't stand it. Neoprene face mask kept my face from freezing. Air temp finally hit 49 F at the end of the day after starting at 18 F. Water temp at F11 / F13 launch is 60 degrees.
It's a long ways off Saturday could be a good one as well. Come on down folks the water is warm! Thanks again Reid for the pics!
If anyone has a suggestion in regard to which boom I should get let me know. Looking for something strong!
Now that spare boom that I have is an Aeron 29mm thickness-so probably can be considered strong. I hate it because of the thickness and the 2.5 cm increments, but if you want I'll bring it the next time and you can try it. Otherwise I like a lot that RRD 26mm that Im currently using-its probably exactly the same like yours, so maybe not so strong but who knows. Looks like Isthmus have stocked up on new booms from Chinook and RRD and have some left from last year as well at discount prices.
