We would like to join for Clinton today. Where would be a good launch for the conditions?

I may sail this afternoon at the Marina. The largest windsurfing sail I have is 5.8 so not sure if we will have enough wind. If my friend can make it then we may bring a Hobie cat down.

Hey Chris, thanks so much for saving my gear, my nerves and my session! Time for me to invest in a mast base that screws on.

No problem, glad I could help Sepi, I use a single bolt myself and have had the same thing happen. Just need to make sure it's really tight. However, you may want to get a double bolt:) Glad it was like mine and we didn't have to take the bolt off the screw to get it in the track! Always fun fixing things on the water. Hope you guys had fun, see ya!

Oh yes Chris, thanks for asking! Went to Wolf /no surprise here  /. It was gusty 10-25 kts and everything in between, but man it was an awesome day-warm, sunny and many of my friends showed up including Ella. She was extremely kind again to shoot many, many pictures of us so expect some to get posted soon :)
Seems like you guys had a great time on Clinton too and I might have come actually if I knew the day before that youll be sailing so I would get up early. Anyway there will be plenty more opportunities Im sure to finally meet you in person. Cheers!

Thanks!
And the rubber plate is interesting! Had not heard of that before. I'll see if I can find that, and otherwise will go with the two-bolt base.

Either way it makes sense to have 2 joints in your windsurfing bag/box and a spare set of harness lines and even a spare extension. Those things fail ones in a while along with the various lines found on the rig and having spares has saved me many a days.
