Does anybody have experience with removing a nose guard?

I don't wear one. But I think you can just unscrew it from your helmet.

You may want to try a social media group like Old School Windsurfers or Vintage Sailboard Collectors. The brand of the board may also lead you to a group that might know. For example, there is a Mistral social media group.

Usually, these use a strong 3M adhesive tape that are also used on car logos and badges. I used dental floss to remove one of these on my car and it worked great. (Search for how-to videos on YouTube). On a board, you might need a bit more time and persuasion as the surface area of the nose protector is much wider and the dental floss might break repetitively I would imagine.
I also heard that heating up a bit the adhesive could help with softening its grip and facilitate the removal.

Hello Chirs: I am not sure I understand your violent response. I assumed you were talking about a rubber nose guard that was common on boards like Mistral. My posting was legitimate. The Facebook groups that I mentioned, and Old School Mistral Owners, would have many people that probably can help you. But I think they respond to congenial communications.

I worked for a Mistral shop for 4 years in the 80's. The midwest Mistral Rep was a good friend. I sailed Mistral boards from 1980 to the end of the 90's. I taught windsurfing in Mexico and the Carribbean on Mistral boards. I am the creator and Admin for Vintage Sailboard Collectors. I have a relationship with the Windsurfing Museum in Prague. Of all people that you may talk to, I probably respect Mistral boards and blue rubber bumpers, as much as anyone.

Here"s a pic from the Board Lady. Same kind of nose guard and even on a JP. She doesn't say how she got it off. You can see the glue that would be underneath.

Looks pretty rough, I assume the next step would be sanding it down. There is like a half inch gap between the board and the nose guard, I am thinking that instead of using dental floss, I will use an E guitar string and try to work it loose. If that doesn’t work, then I might try cutting the lip that causes the gap off the board ,circumcise it with a Dremel If you will.
