One of the "features" of 63rd, a nice dry rigging are that provides shelter from the 30knots wind we got today.
I was on my 117lt aereo, and a 5.7. I was overpower but it was doable. I have a great afternoon. Why I keep not loading all my sails in my car?? AH!! I left my 4.7, and my 95lt Nash wave. It was the perfect day for it.
You know those Viagra commercials that say "This the age of knowing what you're made of", well, I guess I'm made out crap. One thing I realized last Saturday in Michigan City is that I'm completely out of my comfort zone when sailing out offshore in cold weather, as opposed parallel to the shore like in Montrose or 63rd. I guess having kids and age make you a lot more cautious.
Anyway, today I stayed withing 50 ft of the shore and I have an almost perfect day.
One interesting note, 2 cops show up to check on me because they got a call of someone having an emergency. I assured them that I was fine and they were pretty cool about it.
