Hello all, I am new to windsurfing. I started in 2010 and only been to lake Michigan a few times. I'm excited for this summer to start so I can get out there and practice more. I'm always interested in meeting new people who does the same thing since I don't know anyone else who windsurfs. So if there is a gathering or you just can't find anyone else to go with you just let me know.
Other things about me that doesn't have to do with windsurfing is that I'm a student in DeVry who will be graduating this year. I plan on moving to Florida some time in 2012 so I wont be here for long but just long enough to make some new friends. :) I like to drive off road, bicycle, geocache and more.
I hope to make some new friends here and find some people to go windsurfing with.

Looks like it will be a good day tomorrow. I would like to go to Montrose Beach but Wolf Lake may be safer for a beginner with the 20 MPH SW winds. I never been to Wolf Lake but I seem to handle myself just find at Montrose with 15 MPH SW winds. What do you guys think?13 years ago

If you tear out your straps, you'll have bigger things to worry about than your board. When we bought our Old Town Canoe, the dealer said, "if you destroy the boat, you won't be around to worry about it."13 years ago -
Question to all, I'm just now to the point where I'm putting on my foot straps. My question though is how strong are they. I got them just tight enough that the screws fit snugly. I'm worried though with one screw on each side I feel like I'm going to pull out the straps when I go windsurfing. Is this something I should worry about? What's your experience with this? Jeff Bailey Oh no I wouldn't strip the screws but wow, tight enough so the straps don't twist? I made them pretty tight but not that tight. Kinda scared to make them that tight. I appreciate the input. Thanks13 years ago

Hey Jeff,
My name is Mike. I started windsurfing in 2009. I am a grad student at UIC. I don't know anyone else that windsurfs at Montrose and would be interested in joining you the next time you go out. I was hoping to get out there this Friday, but it looks like it might be too cold. Hit me up.
