Miller Beach Cam from the Northern Weather page. That looks like ice near shore.

ady- If you get skunked and need a fix..................... I am planning on skatesailing at montrose beach starting 3pm today- your are more than welcome to come join me and use my board a bit. I was there a few weeks ago, and there were large piles of snow still in the lot (skate park), i hope the whole lot is clear enough now, although there may be more potholes/debris than usual.......

Damn right $&@! That's a mountain of ice in front of the beach-covered in sand! No go :( I guess my next chance is tomorrow at the Wall. I'm not an early bird though.

Went to Wolf-it's still covered even at the boat ramp. Guess who was land sailing in the parking lot -Mike :)

PI'll take a dip at the Calumet beach. Looks safe and cozy for offshore.

Yes, I did it! And had lots of fun at that-that's a first for a season opener ;)
Sorry, selfies only-no one else came along :(
It was extremely gusty right in front of the beach, but once you get farther out it gets much better. The shoreline is low and there aren't many trees and the best thing is they are demolishing the old coal power plant -so one tall building less.
I had many planing runs in the gusts, few gybes-got out of one almost planing /that gust held longer/ and of course the ground saving tacks. Not bad keeping in mind that I was about to call it quits and go home.
