I'm thinking about Purgatory Cove for some main pool mania.

Very good/ thanks for heads up. I will probably get there early and get my gear to point of cove and wait on the wind. As you know, the ankle isn't doing as well as it should due to the hay bailing on my friends farm. Anyway, duck tape should do it. See ya!

Thinking of making the journey to Clinton lake today, where is the best spot to launch with a WNW wind? I have never been down there before.

We're going to the very south end the lake right where route 10 goes over a cove there is a parking lot. I'll give you my cell via email. Not the easiest launch but gets you right out in the action.

Chris is heading to the lake. I put Purgatory Cove up on the beta Launches page. Zoom in to view.

Great day had by all. 4 of us in the main pool. I got out there a liittle after 12:30. While Chris and I were rigging waiting for Charlie somebody flipped a switch and bam, the wind started to rage down the lake. I broke my seshes out in 3 parts. The first was just right for my 5.8. During the second I could of easily been on my 4.7 when Glen hit the main pool. I got off the water around 7:00pm to rap up the third. Water temp at Purgatory Cove is 82 degrees.

Coming right down the pipe. About 2 miles of fetch and close to a mile reach if you push it.

This is what you want to see as you're swimming your gear to the windline in the almost glassy water of the cove. Chris raging on his 5.2. in the main pool.

Had a great time, and the ankle is doing well. I think I'm back in the game!
