I went out around 3pm and it was really on-shore with NE wind direction. It's probably my least favorite direction, but in the other hand when you're all by yourself, it's probable the safest direction. I was riding parallel to the beach from end to end no farther than 50 or 60 feet from the sand and no deeper than chest high.
I was on my 95 L. and 4.7. It was kind of gusty, sometimes overpower and sometimes not so much, and the wave were no higher that 5'. Well, one thing about 63rd beach is that waves never get higher than 5 or 6 feet anyway.
