I  f you like your windsurfing quick and dirty, then  The Road is the place for you.   If the wind is blowing NW just skip out of work, pull over, rig, sail, and still it make back home for dinner.  The Road is a favorite among the hardcore crowd, especially in the fall.

RIG & LAUNCH
» The Road has no parking lot.  There are a few spots to pull over on the lake side just before the guardrail where the road starts to bend.  Please don’t block the path to the water with your car(you’ll know the trail by the garbage left by bank fisherman).  There’s enough grass to rig on fore or aft of your car.   Be careful when opening doors and rigging, cars drive way to fast on this road.

WIND
» Big straight NW wind is what you want.  There can be a slight wind shadow at the launch.  The Road has a long fetch and a good exit for the wind to get right back on the farm field.  On the far side, the wind always seems to be ripping as it’s released off The Corner.

WATER
» The launch has a sand/hard-pack clay bottom.  It slopes out gradually waist deep for a few yards.   The lake is just under a ½ mile wide, but you can extend your reach by using some of the boat ramp cove.  Watch for stumps near the boat ramp in this flat water jibe-atorium.  On big Northwesterlies in the fall, the main channel will have steep ramps both port and starboard.  The water temp will feel like a Holiday Inn swimming pool.
